Top 10 New Year’s Resolutions to Make with Your Cat in 2024

Getting (back) into sport, eating healthier, taking time for yourself... Every year it's the same thing, we make endless lists of resolutions that are more or less achievable... So to start the year off on the right foot, we take things a little more lightly with a dose of humor, and we avoid putting too much pressure on ourselves.

Here are our top 10 good resolutions to follow (or not!) for a 2024 filled with happiness with your little cat.

#1 Get back to sleep

So yes, we love our baby cats, but when they wake us up in the middle of the night by jumping on the wall, or when they try to slowly suffocate us in our sleep by falling asleep on us - literally ON us - we have already thought about replacing them with a goldfish. Okay, we didn't think so, but we don't joke about sleep. In 2024, we stay zen and share our beds.

#2 Pay attention to our diet

In 2024, we decide to treat ourselves by eating healthy, French and good food, for them, as well as for us! No more dishes full of junk food with unpronounceable names, it's decided we favor quality in their bowls and on our plates. Because life is too short to eat badly!

Psst: if you're a little lost, we've written a great guide to help you choose the best kibble and pâté for your beloved cat. We'll explain absolutely everything to avoid the all-too-numerous marketing pitfalls.

#3 Get (back) into sport

This resolution has been on our top list every year for the past 10 years... We know that endorphins are good for morale, and after the year we've just had, it wouldn't hurt to move our butts a little more. Same for our cats who also need to move their little paws a little more. A few sessions of climbing on the cat tree or chasing a ball every day would do them the world of good.

Even if their little bellies and chubby faces make us melt, we must not forget that being overweight and obese can cause serious, sometimes irreversible health problems in our cats (urinary or kidney problems, diabetes , arthritis , etc.).

Without pressure, we find an activity that we like, relaxes us and we have fun with our cat, because laughing is also good for morale!

#4 Do a purr therapy treatment

Does purr therapy speak to you? The gentle purring of our cats has a beneficial effect on us, and it's scientifically proven! The low frequencies of purring ( between 25 and 50 hertz ) have soothing properties, and purr therapy is highly recommended to combat stress, anxiety or depression. Moral of the story? Let's make the world purr!

#5 Take time for yourself, bye bye stress

We stop bothering with shopping and spending a crazy amount of time in stores, this year we order online our favorite kibble and pâtés , delivered directly to your cat, in a box that transforms into a small cabin...

And for even less stress, we switch to the Ziggy subscription ; No need to order urgently (and suffer the wrath of kitty). We have it delivered according to the frequency of our choice; every 4, 6 or 8 weeks. In addition, with the subscription, we can benefit from -15% on each order. His kibble would go from €13.50 to €11.48. In 1 year, we can save around €100 (yes, we took out the calculator).

#6 Sort out our phones: so we can bombard them with photos all year round!

We free up memory so we can take hundreds of pictures of our cats sleeping, playing and eating. Because they are simply beautiful. And much more photogenic than us, let's be honest.

#7 Try to have a moment of privacy in the bathroom

It's hard to refuse access to the bathroom to a clingy or curious cat (we said curious, not perverted)! We have trouble remembering when was the last shower or bath we took without an observer by our side, don't you? (note, we're still talking about the cat, eh). So we think that finding one or two moments of intimacy during the year could be good.

#8 Try calling him by his real name

By dint of calling him my baby, little cat, chachou, little kitty... no wonder he's losing his mind. But by the way, what's his real name again?

#9 Stop criticizing the entire neighborhood through the window

This is probably our favorite thing to do together (aside from eating and sleeping). Sitting by the window and judging. Spying on your neighbors' every move so you have gossip to tell all the neighborhood cats!

#10 Continue to love him as much as in 2023, if not more

You and him are for life! What if 2024 was the year of relaxation, love and peace? What if we put our little daily worries aside, to appreciate each moment of happiness spent together? You deserve it, because your cat is incredible and you are not bad either. 😽

Happy New Year 2024 to all! We wish you all the best for this coming year, but above all and above all health, for you as well as for him. - Team Ziggy
