Kibble or Pâté for My Cat?

Our Dr. Géraldine Blanchard, a feline nutrition specialist, answers the question many of you have in this video:

Wet Food: A Health Advantage

The benefits of pâté for cats on the health of our little companions are numerous! Here are the main benefits summarized:

  • Although not all pâtés are the same, by weight, kibble is 4 times more calorie-dense than pâté! Often, and wrongly, wet food is considered a treat that should only be given to cats on special occasions.
  • Thanks to its high moisture content, pâté adds volume to our cats' stomachs and helps with the feeling of satiety.
  • Since our cats are small drinkers, wet food helps them have less concentrated urine, which is more diluted, reducing the risk of urinary problems.
  • A cat primarily fed high-quality wet food will have a reduced risk of developing obesity and diabetes.
  • Finally, the nutrients present in a high-quality pâté help your cat maintain a beautiful coat!
