Ziggy kibble and wet food are formulated by Dr Veterinarian Géraldine Blanchard: rich in high-quality proteins, low in carbohydrates and phosphorus, with a fully disclosed composition for total transparency.

Ziggy cat food is unique! It's been developed by feline nutrition expert Doctor Géraldine Blanchard, a vet with 25-years of experience. It contains only high-quality proteins, very low carbs, and very little phosphorus for a happy and healthy cat! And all ingredients are listed on the back of the packaging for complete transparency and peace of mind.

The transition to Ziggy kibble and wet food is done gradually over 1 to 2 weeks: increase the kibble quantities by 10% per day, then introduce wet food starting from half a teaspoon.

Introducing a new diet, especially a healthy one, takes time. It’s a bit like getting children to accept vegetables!

You need to follow a gentle and progressive dietary transition so that your cat gets used to the new texture and taste.

Here's our suggestion for a dry food transition:

- Day 1: 10% ZIGGY - 90% Usual dry food

- Day 2: 20% ZIGGY - 80% Usual dry food

- Day 3: 30% ZIGGY - 70% Usual dry food

& so on!

Once you've reached 100% ZIGGY dry food, wait a few days before starting the wet food transition!

Here's our suggestion for the wet food transition:

Day 1: Add half a teaspoon of ZIGGY once a day, with the first morning meal. Add to their dry food or mix it with their usual wet food (in which case, mix thoroughly with a fork to make the mixture homogeneous).

Repeat this every day until your cat eats this small amount. This may take 2 days or 2 weeks for a cat that really doesn't likechange.

When this small amount is eaten, double it the following day... and decrease the amount of his usual food proportionally.

And so on... you get the idea, the pace should be very gentle 🐢

The transition can last from a few days to two weeks if your cat is a bit wary. 🙏

A gradual transition allows the vast majority of cats to easily adopt the Ziggy diet. In case of difficulty, the team offers personalised nutritional support.

Don't worry, as long as you stick to a very gradual transition, the (vast) majority of cats love their Ziggy dry food and wet food!

The transition to Ziggy food is done gradually: increase the kibble by 10% per day over 10 days, then introduce wet food starting from half a teaspoon, mixing it with a fork into the previous wet food.

Cats like to cling to their habits; they don't always like change! For a successful dietary transition, both in terms of digestion and behavior, we recommend incorporating Ziggy's wet food gradually into their diet. Your cat's never had wet food? Anything is possible with a little patience!

Start with a teaspoon of Ziggy wet food each day added to a small dry food meal.

Repeat that each day until the wet food gets eaten. Then, gradually increase the amount day by day (while decreasing the amount of dry food available, you don't want your cat to end up on a double portion!).

After sterilisation, the cat's caloric need decreases by 20%: prioritise wet food (4x less caloric than kibble) and adjust quantities via the Ziggy Daily Ration Calculator.

After neutering, your cat's energy needs drop by an average of 20%, but their other nutritional needs remain the same. It's essential to adopt a special diet and provide the right amount of food.

To prevent your cat becoming overweight or obese, in addition to providing a special quality diet, we recommend playing with them regularly to keep them active. Generally, wet food is 4 times less calorific than dry food, which means they can eat more and feel fuller. It's always best to favor wet food.

After sterilisation, the kitten's caloric need decreases by 20% but its nutritional needs remain identical. A specific kitten diet remains necessary until the end of growth (12 months), before switching to sterilised adult kibble.

Your kitten has just been neutered, and you probably have a lot of questions about his diet.

As kittens are still developing, their bodies are gradually maturing and synthesising new tissues. To develop harmoniously, their nutritional requirements are much higher than those of their parents. Compared with an adult cat, a kitten's food needs to be richer in certain nutrients: proteins, amino acids, fats, essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and trace elements.

Once neutered, the calorie requirements of kittens drop by 20% on average, but their nutritional needs remain the same! So you need to limit the amount of food they eat so that they gain useful weight and muscle, but not too much fat!

Even after neutering, kittens will need a food specifically adapted for them, until the end of their development (12 months, more for large cats). It's only when they've finished growing that you can give them dry food and/or wet food for neutered adult cats.

Ziggy offers ranges adapted to every profile: kitten (0-12 months), sterilised or entire adult cats, and cats with pathologies (diabetes, kidney disease, urinary disorders). The difference between sterilised and entire cats only concerns caloric intake, not nutrients.

Our dry and wet food are not exclusively intended for neutered adult cats. We have different ranges of products:

💛 For Kittens (up to 12 months):

You'll find wet food and dry food for kittens. These are developed to fully nourish a neutered kitten, but quantities must be adjusted.

😻 For Adult Cats:

You'll find a whole range of wet food for adult cats recipes, as well as dry food for adult cats, for both neutered and intact adult cats.

The wet food for intact adult cats is slightly more caloric than those for neutered adult cats, which is why we specifically design our products this way.

The nutritional needs of adult cats, whether neutered or intact, remain the same. It's only the caloric requirement that drops by 20% after neutering. The idea's simply to adjust the daily portion according to your cat's caloric needs. For this, you can use our Daily Portion Calculator.

💙 For Cats with conditions: We've developed a Vet range to support diabetic cats, cats with renal impairment, or cats suffering from urinary problems. We're working on future products to assist cats with other conditions in their daily lives.

- Wet food has fewer calories than dry food! Cats fed mainly or entirely on wet food are less likely to become overweight or obese.

- When wet food accounts for at least 75% of the diet of a neutered, sedentary cat, it reduces their risk of diabetes. What’s more, all our wet food is starch-free (a major source of carbohydrates) and sugar-free!

- Thanks to wet food, cats get more water than if they ate dry food and drank on the side. This helps them produce more urine, reducing their risk of developing urinary problems.

- At Ziggy, we're no minimalists: essential nutrients are provided in generous quantities. The first visible proof of this being a magnificent coat.

- Finally, by choosing quality wet food, you're investing in your cat's health and saving on vet bills.

Variations in texture or colour between two batches are normal: they reflect the use of fresh raw materials and the absence of nitrites. Each batch is marketed after quality control and validation of nutritional analyses.

As we only work with fresh raw materials from our partner breeders, the texture and/or color of our wet food can vary slightly from one production batch to the next.

This is perfectly natural and can vary according to the season or meat supplies.

Each batch of wet food goes through rigorous quality control and nutritional analysis to ensure it lives up to the standards we set ourselves. However, slight variations in taste or texture may still occur.

The more natural the product, the more it’s subject to these sorts of variations. We could control this by adding nitrite, but we don’t. We would rather embrace these natural characteristics and guarantee your cat a healthy diet.

Ziggy products are stored in a cool and dry place. Once opened, wet food keeps for 48h in the refrigerator and kibble for 6 to 8 weeks in their resealed bag.

Ziggy cat food should be kept in a cool, dry place, away from heat and light. Your furry friend will have no problem eating it up to the used-by date you’ll find on the product’s packaging.

Once opened, a wet food tray can be kept in the fridge for 48 hours (preferably in a closed container). Dry food should be kept closed in a cool, dry place once opened. Ideally, dry food should be eaten within 6 to 8 weeks.

Our recipes are all developed by veterinary expert in feline nutrition Dr. Géraldine Blanchard. She's been onboard with Ziggy since the beginning and designs healthy and balanced recipes tailored to our feline friends needs. Each new recipe that we develop is first analyzed by an independent laboratory, and only made available to buy once approved. Every production is then analyzed and approved again by our quality control team.

Placing our trust in our talented (and resourceful) compatriots, all our recipes are produced in France by our partner factories. Our wet food is produced in Vire, Normandy, our dry food is produced in Wimille, in the north of France, our probiotics in Seine-Maritime, our litter is made in Centre-Val de Loire, and our packages and booklets are made in Lyon! 🇫🇷

The vast majority of our ingredients are sourced in France, with a small minority coming from elsewhere in Europe. For example, we source our meats in France, less than 300km from our factories. Find out more on our dedicated page.

We source all our meats in France, primarily from animals raised outdoors, but this of course depends on availability. We prioritise premium organ meats that are not favoured by humans, which allows us to avoid raising animals specifically to feed our fluffy friends.
