Ziggy Litter

We're taking you on a tour to our French litter manufacturing partner who's been manufacturing litter and reusing pine by-products for almost a century. The family-run operation puts ecology and respect for the environment at the heart of its manufacturing, by sourcing wood shavings from sustainable forests in France. The result is an ultra-effective, natural litter with an environmental impact that's a fraction of the norm.

How do I use Ziggy Litter?

Here's our advice on how to protect the environment and limit litter-related waste:

- Pour 5 cm of Ziggy plant litter into your cat's tray. Our litter is concentrated, so a little goes a long way.

- Regularly remove saturated pellets (and stool) and top up with plant litter.

- Empty the tray once a week on average, and give it a good clean.

- Find out the best way of disposing of cat litter in your area.

Environment label

The NF Environnement label is issued by the AFNOR group (French Association for Standardisation) and guarantees that manufacturers comply with very strict environmental standards.

Products with the NF Environnement label have a reduced environmental impact and official French ecological certification. The label acts as a double guarantee: quality and ecological performance.

It ensures that environmental impact features throughout the whole product life cycle.

Ziggy plant-based litter is compatible with all cats, even those used to mineral or silica litters. For a smooth transition, mix old and new litter over several days.

If your cat is currently used to mineral or silica litter, you may need to gradually switch to natural litter.

Some cats will have no trouble switching from mineral to natural litter (less dust, gentle on the paws, natural smell), but for others, you may need to mix the old litter with the new one to allow your cat to get used to it!

Ziggy cat litter doesn’t clump, but is ultra-absorbent (up to 600%). It completely masks unpleasant odours and is a much more environmentally friendly option.

Litter that clumps contains a glue that makes it unnatural, non-recyclable and non-compostable, so we've opted for efficiency and ecology 🌱🇫🇷

On average, our 10L bag of cat litter will last a month when you have one cat.

We recommend pouring about 5cm of litter into your cat’s tray, regularly removing saturated granules and topping up with fresh litter.

Don't forget to empty and clean your cat's litter try regularly (on average once a week).

That way, a bag of litter can last up to 1 month!

We recommend that you don't flush the litter down the toilet, as this could block it! 🙀

Our litter is totally suitable for a litter robot! 😺

To teach a kitten to use its litter box, place it in the tray several times after its arrival and guide its paws to show it how to scratch. Accidents in the first few days are normal: stress, difficult access or a litter box that needs cleaning.

To quickly teach your kitten where to do his business, you can put him in his litter tray several times within an hour of arriving home. If he scratches and sniffs at the tray, he probably already knows how to use it. On the other hand, if he seems clueless, you can help him to learn by gently grasping one of his front paws to show him how to ‘scratch’. If your kitten does his business outside of the litter tray at first, don't worry. He might just be a bit stressed or disorientated, and hasn't managed to find his way around the litter tray yet, or simply the tray might be dirty and needs changing.

Like all Ziggy products, our litter is also 100% made in France! Our cat litter is made in century old family-run factory!

All Ziggy recipes are formulated by Dr Veterinarian Géraldine Blanchard, specialist in feline nutrition, analysed by an independent laboratory and manufactured in France (Normandy, Hauts-de-France, Seine-Maritime, Centre-Val de Loire).
