How Ziggy probiotics for cats work

Unlike prebiotics, true cat probiotics are living, non-pathogenic microorganisms that, once consumed, have a beneficial effect on the cat by improving its intestinal flora and digestive tract.

Our probiotics are validated and effective.

Once ingested by the cat, these bacteria interact with the bacteria (sometimes pathogenic) present in its digestive tract, forming a barrier between the intestinal lining and unwanted bacteria.

They allow the microbiome to rebalance itself and resume its natural role. This is how probiotics have a beneficial effect on the intestinal flora, the digestive tract's immunity, and therefore the cat's digestive transit.

Advice from our veterinarian, a specialist in feline nutrition

Dr. Géraldine Blanchard is a world-renowned Veterinary Nutritionist for her expertise in Clinical Nutrition.

She has formulated each of our recipes from scratch: from the choice of raw materials to the balance of nutrients.

With over 25 years of experience, she guarantees extremely strict quality control and in-depth nutritional analyses.

She gives you her best tips for a healthy cat:

Divide your cat's food intake into at least 4 small meals (for example, two in the morning and two in the evening (in the morning when getting up, before leaving the house, at midday or when returning home, then in the evening). This will allow you to give him small quantities of food, even kibble, often, renewed, which remains clean, and of good quality, rather than a large quantity which is exposed to oxidation and mold.

Measure and weigh the amount of food you give your cat according to their ideal weight.

Avoid free-feeding kibble to prevent overconsumption.

Not sure how much wet food/kibble to give your cat?

You can directly use our ration calculator by accurately indicating their ideal weight.

Minimize situations that can stress your cat: crowds, travel, changes in habits, noise, etc.

Opt for highly digestible food, with high-quality animal proteins (from muscle and noble offal rather than bones, collagen, etc.).

Supplement your cat's diet with probiotics to support the well-being of their digestive flora or fish and algae oil to improve skin and coat health, making it softer and stronger, as well as improving cognition and the body's defense system.

The meaning of my cat's stool say about his health?

Meaning? Your cat is constipated. He's finding it very difficult to poo, so he squats for a long time in his litter box.

What to do about it? Consider changing his diet to a highly digestible, fibre-rich wet food like Ziggy wet food. This will promote better transit and a normalisation to bowel movements.

Meaning? Your cat's stools are healthy.

What to do about it? Your cat has a good bowel movement. He's happy and at ease. Continue to feed him as you are and keep him well hydrated.

Meaning? These stools are generally caused by minor irritation or stress.

What to do about it? It's generally nothing to worry about, as long as it goes away quickly. Opt for a diet rich in premium proteins and good vegetables, sources of fibre that promote healthy digestion and transit.

Meaning? Your cat has diarrhoea. This may be due to an unsuitable diet, a stressful event, indigestion, a sudden change of diet or illness.

What to do about it? If the diarrhoea persists for more than a day with other clinical symptoms, seek advice from your vet.

Meaning? Your cat is suffering from mucous diarrhoea, recognisable by the presence of mucus (viscous, whitish mucus). This is generally a sign of irritation, infection or parasites.

What to do about it? Seek advice from your vet.

Ziggy Care probiotics can be used at any age: in kittens during weaning, vaccinations or a dietary change; in adults in case of stress, digestive disorders, antibiotics or loss of appetite.

For kittens, we recommend probiotics during weaning, after each vaccination (start a week before and continue for a month), on adoption or arrival in your new home and during any change of diet.

For adult cats, you can use Ziggy Care Probiotics after a stressful event, digestive problems, moving or travelling, a change of diet, during and after hospitalisation, a drop in appetite, but also when taking antibiotics (before, during and after the treatment to create the right conditions for the digestive flora to rebuild) or at any age for cats with a more sensitive intestinal flora.

Absolutely (except in addition to another probiotic).

As with anything, you should avoid taking probiotics if your cat is allergic to any of the ingredients.

It takes a few days for the probiotics to settle in properly, and the positive effects start to show after a week. However, this period varies depending on the condition of the individual’s flora before starting Ziggy Care probiotics for cats.

Yes, in the event of intestinal stress in which case you can try to reduce the quantity (1/2 sachet per day). If this doesn’t prove to be effective enough, go back up to one sachet a day.

When he starts on solid food. It's also a good idea to give them in preparation for weaning, which is a stressful time for kittens.

Probiotics can be given to cats at all stages of life (kitten, adult and senior) 😺

Ziggy Care probiotics can also be given to cats suffering from chronic kidney disease, diabetes, urinary disorders, IBD, FIV or any other feline pathology.

Store between 2° and 25°C, away from direct sunlight or heat, in a dry place.

Ziggy Care probiotics are used at a rate of one 1g sachet per day sprinkled over food: as a 30-day course in case of digestive disorders, stress or antibiotics, or as a preventive measure at each change of season.

Probiotics come in small 1g sachets, to be sprinkled in full on your cat's food, daily. 😺

We recommend giving one sachet a day for 30 days if your cat has digestive problems, transit problems, reduced appetite, is taking antibiotics or is experiencing a stressful event or a change of diet.

You can also give it preventatively to boost your cat's immunity at each change of season.
