1/ Alfie in Argylle (2024)
Directed by Matthew Vaughn, the quirky director of the Kingsman trilogy, Argylle is a spy comedy that tells the story of Elly Conway, a novelist who finds international success thanks to the adventures of her secret agent Argylle. Elly leads a quiet life with her little cat Alfie, but her daily life is abruptly turned upside down when she discovers that her intrigues also take place in the real world.
Alongside Aiden, a spy allergic to cats, Elly takes her mustachioed Alfie in her backpack to embark on a race against time across the four corners of the planet in order to outrun dangerous killers and prevent her fictions from overtaking reality.
At Ziggy, we would all like a cat as brave (and mysterious) as Alfie! Available only in theaters from January 31, 2024!
Psst: for the record, Alfie is played by Chip, the happy Scottish Fold of Claudia Vaughn (Claudia Schiffer) and director Matthew Vaughn.
In a press release, he says: “ On the first day of filming Argylle, the professional cat we hired proved not only extremely expensive, but also completely uncooperative. So I went to my daughter’s room, picked up Chip and decided he would stay with me for the next three months of filming. Driving to set with a cat in the car was a completely unusual experience for me, and Chip spent his days in my trailer during filming. Over time, he won me over and his performance in the film is excellent. He became the perfect source of discord between the characters and was surprisingly unmissable, cinematic, funny and a star to even the biggest actors on set .”
2/ Crookshanks in Harry Potter (2001-2011)
Crookshanks is Hermione Granger's cat. He is described in JK Rowling's novels as a big ball of fur with a plumed tail, a squashed nose and a grumpy expression. Intelligent and a bit mischievous, he can also be seen in the films of the saga. For the needs of the films, Crookshanks was played by four Persian cats named Oliver, Crackerjack, Bo Bo and Prince.

3/ Miss Teigne in Harry Potter (2001-2011)
Still in the Harry Potter saga, we also find Miss Teigne, the faithful cat of Argus Filch, the caretaker of Hogwarts. With velvet paws, she prowls the corridors of the school to report the slightest mischief of the students. A spy cat of sorts! Miss Teigne was played by three beautiful Maine Coons: Cornelius and Max, two males, and Alanis, a female.

4/ Bad luck in My Father-in-Law and Me (2000)
“ Me and the Father-in-Law ” is one of the cult comedies featuring Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller. But this film would be nothing without Bad Luck, the family cat. This tomcat (his dad's) obeys every command and even flushes the toilet by himself! Two Himalayans, named Bailey and Misha, played the role of Bad Luck in this film that is worth watching and watching again!

5/ The Godfather's Cat (1972)
We all remember this scene in Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather: Vito Corleone sitting at his desk, petting a cat on his lap.
As an aside, the cat was not originally part of the scene. While filming his first scenes, Francis Ford Coppola came across this mustachioed man in the studios and decided to include him in this legendary scene. The feline was very docile and even purred so loudly that Marlon Brando's lines could no longer be heard.
Unfortunately, history does not tell the fate of this actor, nor his first name...

6/ Snowbell in Stuart Little (1999)
Snowbell is the family's Persian cat whose daily life as a shepherd is turned upside down by the arrival of Stuart, a clever and endearing little mouse. The two companions do not get along, but gradually become friends.

7/ Mr. Bigglesworth in Austin Power (1997)
Mr. Bigglesworth is the companion of Doctor Evil. Unlike the Persian cat in the James Bond films, Mr. Bigglesworth is a sphynx. He has no hair (or almost no). In the story, this tomcat lost his beautiful fur after having to escape with his master in a cryogenic capsule.

8/ Mr. Moustache in The Voices (2015)
Ryan Reynolds plays Jerry, a bachelor whose only friends are Mr. Monstache and his dog Bosco. He meets the pretty Fiona, everything is going well, until Jerry stops taking his medication and he hears his animals... We move to a completely different register, with this crazy and scary comedy.

9/ Orion in Men in Black (1997)
In the first film of the Men in Black saga, we find Orion, a white and ginger cat who finds himself alone after his alien master and jeweler is murdered. Around his neck: a necklace that contains the alien galaxy that the Men in Black are looking for.

10/ Sassy in The Incredible Journey (1993)
The adventures of Chance, an American bulldog, Shadow, a golden retriever and Sassy, a Himalayan cat who, imagining themselves abandoned by their humans, will undertake a journey through the rocky mountains to find their family. A magnificent film that makes us nostalgic. It is also one of our favorite films to watch with your cat.

Et le rouquin qui dame le pion à l’Alien dans le vaisseau spatial de Sigourney Weaver !
